Unit 3 "Awesome animals" Animales asombrosos"

In this unit,we are going to revise  grammar : the comparative.
Remember to open your notebook and take a look at unit 3.
(Recordad el revisar la unidad 3 en vuestra libreta:vocabulario y el comparativo)
Estos listenings debéis escucharlos ,como siempre, en el e-book enlazado a la derecha del blog. (Si aún alguien no ha podido acceder al e-book, que me pida información de cómo acceder).

1.-Exercise  1 .Listen vocabulary and repeat (page 24 e-book)
2.-Listen and remember  the story " How the tiger got its stripes"
(pages 26+27 e-book).
3.-Exercise11. Listen "Asian or African" (page 28 e-book).
4.-Exercise 13.Listen, repeat and learn -aprende (page 28 e-book).
5.-Exercise 16.-Listen and say True or False. (page 29 e-book)

Now it´s time for Grammar : the comparatives.
Sirven para comparar dos personas,cosas,etc.

Sabéis que los comparativos se forman de dos maneras :
Caso A) Si el adjetivo es corto.- Le añadimos la terminación _ER al adjetivo + than (que)
My pencil is longER than your pencil.(long) más largo
My brother is tallER than my dad  (tall)  más alto

👉A tener en cuenta:

☺Si el adjetivo acaba en  cons+vocal +cons----dobla la consonante final.Por ejemplo : big ---bigger than /hot----hotter than
☺Si el adjetivo acaba en cons+ y :
pretty -----prettier (transforma la y en latina) más guapa
tidy------tidier  más ordenado
ugly------uglier  más feo
Si el adjetivo acaba en  -e ,al añadirle er quedaría una sola e:
Por ejemplo nice +er = nicer  más agradable

Caso B)Si el adjetivo es largo: intelligent, comfortable, interesting..
En este caso sólo nemos la palabra more...... than.Por ejemplo:
My sister is MORE  beautiful THAN  her friend.
This book is more interesting than your book.

El comparativo de good es better than.-mejor que
El comparativo de bad es worse than- peor que
